Statistics graduates are taught about how to solve well-defined statistical and mathematical problems, but in the real world, they need to be able to translate the real-life problem into a statistical problem and offer data-based solutions. As applied statisticians, they need to have an understanding of the scientific subject area, a solid understanding of statistics and good communication skills. In this talk, we will also present case studies in the application of statistical modeling in health sciences.
