According to the declaration of United Nations Statistical Commission the world is observing the World Statistics Day 2015 today on 20th October, 2015. The motto of this years World Statistics Day is: “Better Data, Better Lives”. On his message the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon said, “On this World Statistics Day, I urge all partners and stakeholders to work together to ensure that the necessary investments are made, adequate technical capacity is built, new data sources are explored and innovative processes are applied to give all countries the comprehensive information systems they need to achieve sustainable development.”

Bangladesh is also observing the day with great enthusiasm. Institute of Statistical Research and Training, University of Dhaka wishes you a happy and prosperous World Statistics Day!
