ICAS-2014

Congratulations to the ISRT family for the successful completion of the International Conference on Applied Statistics (ICAS) 2014, held from 27th to 29th December 2014 as a part of the celebration of the 50th foundation anniversary of the ISRT. The ICAS 2014, carrying the theme “Applied Statistics: Meeting the challenges of the 21st century” has been highly satisfying for all those involved and effectively substantially met the academic thirst of the ISRT endeavor.

The conference has highlighted the emerging areas of statistical application by bringing together people from home and abroad, who use statistics in their work. The audience of the conference encompassed mainly researchers and scientists who involve themselves in statistical analysis, design and consulting as a major component of their jobs. The highlighting outcome of this participation has created a profound space for brainstorming and sharing of new knowledge.

The conference focused on the aspect of application of statistics, altogether 141 papers (61 invited and 80 contributed) were showcased in 27 (15 invited and 12 contributed) sessions with three parallel sessions at each time slots. Papers have also been divided according to different fields and their applications like Statistical Inference, Theory of Estimation, Generalized Linear Models Multivariate Analysis Optimal Design, Sampling Techniques, Survival Analysis, Clinical Trials, Bioinformatics, Public Health, Environmetrics, Econometric Analysis Time Series Analysis, Finance and Banking, Demography and Socio-economic Analysis.

To keep the memories of this historic juncture, a souvenir and an abstract booklet has been published, a short video for welcoming the participants of the ICAS 2014 has also been launched.
