A joint meeting of the technical committee, expert panel and other stakeholders on Population Monographs was held on May 20, 2015 at BBS conference room. The meeting was arranged to jointly review the progress of 4 population monographs on Special Population Groups by participating institutes. ISRT faculties Jahida Gulshan and Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman presented the progress of the two monographs on Elderly Population and Disabled Population of Bangladesh respectively.

The program was chaired by Md. Baitul Amin Bhuiyan, Director General of BBS. The moderator of the technical session was Dr. Christophe Lefrance, Technical Advisor, Population and Development, UNFPA Regional office. Mr. M A Mannan Howlader, Additional Secretary (Development), SID, Md. Mashud Alam, Project Director, Population and Housing Census-2011 Project, Mr. Iori Kato, Deputy Representative, UNFPA, Bangladesh, Rafael Sanchez Carmona, Programme Manager, Human & Social Development, EU, Dhaka, Professor Syed Shahadat Hossain, ISRT, Dhaka University, Mr. Mahboob-E-Alam, NPO, PPR, UNFPA, Dr. Eshani Ruwan Pura, Programme SPecialist, UNFPA, Md. Shamsul Alam, Consultant, Population and Housing Census Project, BBS and Mr. Abdur Rashid Sikder, Former Deputy Director General of BBS were also present at the meeting.
