Successful Completion of SPSS Hands-on for Data Science Training Program (Sept, 27-28, 2024) at ISRT, University of Dhaka

The Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, successfully conducted a two-day hands-on for SPSS for Data Science training program on September 27 and 28, 2024. The training program, aimed at building practical skills in statistical analysis using SPSS, was a part of ISRT’s ongoing effort to provide quality training in modern data science techniques. The training program attracted participants from various sectors including academia, research, and industry.

Facilitated by a team of renowned faculty members including Prof. Mohammad Shahed Masud, Prof. Md. Hasinur Rahman Khan, and Lecturer Tasnim Ara, the intensive 16-hour training covered a wide range of topics. The content highlights included Data Entry and Management, Data Wrangling, Descriptive and Visualization techniques, Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and Regression, ANOVA, Logistic Regression, Principal Component Analysis, and Time Series Analysis. The participants were able to apply these statistical techniques in a capstone project that marked the culmination of the training program.

The training received enthusiastic participation, with attendees expressing satisfaction with the interactive format and practical exercises. Participants also appreciated the hands-on learning environment, which was further enhanced by individual attention from the facilitators.

At the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed to the participants by the Director of ISRT, Professor Dr. Tamanna Howlader in the presence of several faculty members. The Director praised the participants’ dedication and hard work, highlighting the importance of continued learning in data science to keep up with the rapidly evolving technological landscape. He also appreciated the efforts of the facilitators and the entire team involved in making the event a success.
