The biennial event, to be held in Hague from October 5 to 9, 2025, showcases remarkable contributions from statisticians worldwide, including ISRT’s own Tarikul Islam. Mr. Tarikul Islam, a young faculty member from ISRT, University of Dhaka, has been announced for the prestigious 2025 Jan Tinbergen Award, which recognizes exceptional contributions by young statisticians from developing countries. The award honours the legacy of Jan Tinbergen, the eminent Dutch econometrician, and Nobel laureate, and is generously sponsored by the Dutch Stichting Internationaal Statistisch Studiefonds (International Statistical Study Fund Foundation). The 2025 competition focused on the theme of “Statistical Systems,” highlighting the importance of robust statistical frameworks for advancing global development.
