Two ISRT faculty members attended the workshop of DHS Fellowship Program 2024 in the Philippines

The workshop (the first of its kind) of the DHS Fellowship Program 2024 took place from February 28 to March 7, 2024, at I’M Hotel in the Philippines. This eight-day international workshop convened academicians from five countries, focusing on various aspects of Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) research. Led by Professor Dr. Jahida Gulshan, a team representing Bangladesh from the Institute of Statistical Research and Teaching (ISRT) participated in the event. Mr. Priom Saha, a lecturer of ISRT, accompanied Dr. Gulshan. Other participating countries included the Philippines, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The DHS Fellowship aims to enhance the analytical capabilities and utilization of DHS data within participating countries. Each year the program invites research proposals that utilize DHS data, awarding fellowships to selected projects. For the year, 2024 five research projects were chosen from a pool of over 100 applications.
